NORD 20th Anniversary Gala
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Orphan Drug Act, one of the most
successful pieces of healthcare legislation ever enacted. It is also the 20th
anniversary of the formation of NORD, the National Organization for Rare Disorders.
To celebrate these anniversaries, NORD is mounting a year-long program of activities
to raise awareness of rare diseases and support research. These activities will
include an international scientific symposium, regional conferences with patient
groups, and an educational campaign for patients, the public, and healthcare
professionals.
A highlight of the year will be our 20th Anniversary Tribute Banquet on Monday, May
19, in Washington, DC.
